Republican, Peter Schiff, the Senate candidate, attended a meet and greet in Brookfield, CT on the evening of June 24, 2010. Schiff spoke for more than half an hour and then responded to questions from the crowd of over 50.

In this video, Schiff talks about Richard Blumenthal.

Schiff hopes that the Republican and Unaffiliated voters in Connecticut rally to his campaign in time to make the difference in the August 10 primary election.

Any registered Unaffiliated voters ( 41 % of the CT. registration ) may reregister up to a day before the primary to enable them to chose Schiff.

Peter Schiff gained notoriety for his video blogs discussing the U.S. economy

Schiff’s notoriety for financial predictions increased when a You Tube video entitled “Peter Schiff was right” became popular in late 2008 and 2009. The video consists of a compilation of clips of his many appearances on various financial news programs from networks including CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC and Bloomberg, most of which took place from 2005 to 2007. In the segments Schiff explains specifically the fundamental problems he saw with the United States economy at that time. Schiff’s warnings of a coming economic collapse earned him the moniker “Dr. Doom.”

In late 2006, Schiff predicted the housing bubble and resulting subprime mortgage crisis, and in late 2008, he predicted the automotive industry crisis and the crisis in the banking and financial markets.

Alan Greenspan came out with an opinion piece today in the Wall Street Journal comparing our debt situation to Greece. He thinks U.S. treasury yields are set to rise sharply and most are underestimating the risks. He makes many of the same arguments Peter Schiff has been making for years. Of course, he does not put any responsibility on the Fed. The whole point of the piece was to cover his own butt because he knows the next economic crisis is around the corner.
