Also its funny to …
Also its funny to note how every country that you noted spend less, then the US government. Maybe if the US government tried spending less they would have better results
Look at Singapore …
Look at Singapore who private sector is their health-care per capita and has the best system in the world. It controls costs and delivers equals results to France. It is the model I believe all system will follow as even in 2020 Norway project expense on health care is unsustainable.
Norway would have to grow double digit in 2020 to make up for the rising costs. Same in France and elsewhere. Singapore is the only country to fight off costs of health care, go learn about their system
Yes I can, …
Yes I can, socialized medicine doesn’t work by itself. It cant self-sustain its self. It will always be dependent on the economy, and Norway and France spend less on health-care the the US, have higher rates of interest, lower unemployment and have strong currencies maybe we should follow you’re example and spend less and have higher rates then 0% and stronger currency. So again thank to you’re finance minister behaving economically so they can enjoy health-care, it isn’t free it never has.
Inflation is …
Inflation is everyones’ enemy. Spot on observation bl782. The closer we get to nationalized healthcare (paid for by a govt that is broke) the more the govt will create further inflation to finance it. This is a disaster and inflation is the enemy to every american.
@vre655u Those …
@vre655u Those systems still function because of our cheap doctors going over, helping temporarily. One day they will flee from the west too. This system is fundamentally flawed in it’s principles. What are you going to say once the doctors go to China?
I would love to …
I would love to have been there.
Hungary’s problems …
Hungary’s problems with the doctors fleeing the country to work abroad after EU membership doesnt exclude other countries to have success with a health care system. Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, GB, Spain Italy all have better healtcare systems and the US, and cheaper. And they rely not on oil revenues. Just cause one gov. can’t afford to give all citizens good care, you cant say that state health care does not work in dev. countries like in the US and northern EU
@vre655u the only …
@vre655u the only reason your system works in norway is because of the oil money. Here in hungary it’s a disaster.
We dont have to …
We dont have to wait long either. That’s just a myth. And in Norway we have a legal right to choose hospital for no given reason, for treatment. You have a personal doctor, which i can go online and switch to another doctor anytime i like. Oh btw. all nursing homes/elder communities are also free
You comparing HC with cars just shows what little you know of HC. I’ts humans. Ever wonder why US is the only dev. country with your sys? Sometimes everyone ex you ISNT wrong :-p
@vre655u You say …
@vre655u You say that it’s the most costly as if it’s a bad thing. We don’t have to wait long to see a doctor, and we can see any doctor. We can have multiple tests, second opinions, and our elderly get taken care of as well. When something costs more it’s usually because it is better, not worse. Mercedes cost more than Kias because Mercedes are better. Another thing is, our government isn’t going to be giving away insurance, the US Govt is broke.
The US has the most …
The US has the most costly HC-system in the world, and doctor’s wages are included in this. No matter how you put it, financially gov. health care will be easier on the economy. BTW: Doctors here earn at least twice as much as a regualr industrial worker. Surgeons and speciallists earn even more. Naturally to keep them from going to other countries in EU and work there. Doctors are under no work-control here and apply for jobs like everyone else.
the problem is the …
the problem is the government is not going to pay the doctors much money, and the docs will quit. Right now doctors can choose which insurance companies they will work with based on how much they pay. If there is only one payer, the govt, the govt can pay whatever price they want, which will be low.
I hope the bill …
I hope the bill passes so the insurance compnies go broe, then we can have government run single payer health insurance like most respectable countries.
look at Singapore …
look at Singapore to get my point. A much more market based government option you would detest but doesn’t face the costs of any European nation any north American and delivers the same results. Why did American not complain about health care in the 60, 50s, 40,s even the thirties, they had a very strong dollar backed by gold which meant health care was inexpensive and out of pocket, simple as that.
The US economy is …
The US economy is not recovering their market is going up despite no recovery & that can hurt when you don’t have the rise in wage increases with it or from the loss of value in the dollar. We our the largest debtor on the planet, do you really want pay for our health care when they ask for the 700 billion to start it since they have no national savings or surpluses. However, how do you know their isn’t a more efficient system,
That’s also why I …
That’s also why I said you have it thanks to a couple of finance ministers in your Central Bank who run a tight ship, higher interest rate ect. You need jobs, savings, capital, so taxation can pay for health care.
Yes, and I didn’t …
Yes, and I didn’t say vre65u it cant work its just structurally flawed, do you even know if the govt runs a loss, and how in a prolong recessions socialized medicine cannot work. You need tools, equipment to administer health care and if tax revenues fall for a extended period then that health care always becomes rationed because there is no one else there to deliver it. That’s what happened in the great depression….
Why don’t you just …
Why don’t you just sign your life over to hte gov’t while you’re at. Don’t you understand that whatever gov’t is a disease and everything it involves itself in gets infected. U.S constitution was written to constrain the power & force of gov’t and to protect our civil liberties
There is only one …
There is only one big problem with US health care: it is the insurance companies. We have a gov run healthcare, and, simplified, the doctors get paid from the gov. inst. of ins. comp. It is directly from the pasient via the gov, instead of the insurance companies “skimming” in the middle. Get rid of the skimming in the middle, no more problems. Easy!
exactly right. Corn …
exactly right. Corn is dirt cheap in the USA and it goes into everything! Cows eat it imagine! Cows are supposed to eat grass not corn!! it goes into Coke, pigs eat it, chicken eat it… and all thanks to american subsidies. Asia has much lower rates of cancer and diabetes than the USA because you eat the right food there. Very little animal protein, and high intake of vegetables. America´s economy and society are doomed. The chinese need to decouple from the USA or else you will go with them.
The food epidemic …
The food epidemic begins with the government subsities. The government gives a lot of money to farmers to grow high sucrose and fructose food products. These unhealthy foods becomes extremely cheap and is the purchase of preference by the poor. Thats why all the poor people are so fat, because the only food they can afford are the high fructose and sucrose products. I am actually from China, people eat more healthy because junk food cost more than healthy vegitables.
wrong. the problem …
wrong. the problem is not due to government is due to eating habits. Read The China Study, and watch Food Inc. to get educated on why children as young as 3 years old are suffering from Diabetes. If everyone in the US ate right, health care would be extremely cheap because there would be no expensive procedures such as open heart surgeries, cancer treatment, etc. But tell that to the doctors or pharm companies. The US is rotten from the inside, move out to europe or canada before it is too late.
The thing is that …
The thing is that everyone is focusing on the cure, but nobody is looking at the causes of why Health Care is so expensive. The cause is in your food!!! Americans eat too much garbage that causes heart attacks, diabetes, strokes, cancer… all very expensive illneses. Throwing money at it won´t solve it. People need to change their eating habits and that is like telling a drug addict to get off cocaine cold turkey. Imagine telling an american to stop drinking coke or eating pizza… Good luck!
Look at Singapore …
Look at Singapore government they spend very little per capita, actually their private sector makes up the most of their health care spending and delivers the best community health results in the world. If the US has one problem it should cut spending has other governments have, even France spend less then the US gov’t.
Dumb the US …
Dumb the US government spends more on health care, more then anyone else. How can one have capitalist health care or free market based health care with government subsidy like that and what makes this subsidy worse is that corporations and not government manage it. Healthcare should not be so expensive. It’s the biggest recession since the Great Depression. How could prices go up? Yet prices did, for 16 major countries experienced annualized average growth. 16/16 A failure of socialism?
